OPTIMISING POLYESTER (PET) STRAPPING SYSTEMS
A long-standing Kwikpac customer who trusted us for their stretch film supplies was becoming increasingly frustrated by their inadequate strapping system due to lack of servicing from their strapping machine supplier. So they came to us as renowned experts to help resolve their issues.
Efficient and reliable strapping systems are essential for palletising large volumes of corrugated packaging.
Unfortunately, one of their strapping machines repeatedly stopped working, leading to delays and wasted strapping. Our load containment expert identified that out of six strapping heads in operation, one was causing the issue. By using measured adjustments, the tension of the strapping head was reconfigured to allow problem-free strapping and discontinue wasting strapping.
THE REPERCUSSIONS
- The company was using 200 coils per month, of which 1-2 coils of strapping were wasted every day.
- Environmental impact – Significant amount of strapping wastage.
- Downtime on the lines - Strapping was snapping frequently putting a lot of pressure on operators & ultimately costing the company a lot of money.

After fine adjustments to the strapping head were completed all issues were resolved and operations were greatly improved.
