However, in the meantime, our specialists have put together a list of tips that you can implement into your packing facility to assist and boost your machinery's performance.

KwikFilm branded core, machinery and stretch wrap

1. Optimise the space in your warehouse

Work with a Kwikpac stretch film and machinery expert to ensure that when your pallet wrapping machine is implemented into your packing facility, it will seamlessly increase production and efficiency.

2. Check the stretch film is threaded properly through the machine's rollers

Follow the instructions on your pallet wrapper to thread the film through its rollers. Make sure the film is interacting effectively with the rollers as if it isn’t, this is an indication that the stretch film isn’t high standard. Implementing KwikFilm into your process is a sure way to avoid this issue due to its versatility and quality. Your loads will be safeguarded, and pallet stability will be assured.

3. Ensure the rollers are kept clean

Make sure to avoid residue of labels, dirt, or dust on the film carriage as this will limit the performance of your machine. Regularly clean your machine with strong cleaning products. Avoid the snapping of film by replacing cut rollers to allow your machine to perform consistently.

4. Determine overlap size to avoid waste

For each rotation of your pallet wrapping machine, confirm that the film overlap percentage is between 30-50% to avoid a decrease in pallet stability. A higher percentage of overlap would increase waste and be detrimental to costs long-term.

5. Ensure you are using the best variation of stretch film suited to your machine and process

Work with your Dedicated Account Manager to determine which variation of KwikFilm would be the most beneficial to your pallet wrapping process.

6. Conduct tests to find out the containment force on pallets being loaded

One of our experts can assist with this when conducting an audit of your pallet wrapping process. This is an effective way to compare different types of stretch wrap.

7. Weigh your pallet wrap

Determining the correct amount of pallet wrap ensures your wrapping will be seamless and save you money.

8. Communicate with warehouse staff efficiently

Lastly – ask the operators if they are having any problems with the machinery. They are the ones using the pallet wrapper day-to-day and will be able to tell you if there is anything amiss.
